Alex was super energised and awake in the morning, while Leila was half asleep and feeling very unproductive. Alex spent the whole morning and afternoon (with a couple of zoom sections) working on his final digital transformation project. However, when we walked outside with coffee there was a M&S bag with champagne and two mini-bottles, we asked Kay and Tony who gave them and they said it was Andrea who we got the cigarettes for. Leila feels bad about complaining about getting the cigarettes.
In the afternoon, Alex made a massive lunch, Leila tasted a bit and for the time she was semi-impressed. Leila did some work… but then ended up baking cookies with olive oil instead (they were vegan). The cookies were amazing and Alex ate two very quickly. Alex came and worked outside for a bit, which was super nice. We took a break and sat on the bench outside, Leila talked to her dad, who asked her to write a speech for him for 6pm. He was going to film a recording to blast to the UK Ismailis the next day giving them an update on lockdown and what the institutions can do to help. Also, Boris contracted Coronavirus, Leila spent some of the afternoon writing and then Alex chipped in a little bit. Later on we took aother break and played badminton over the mini-hill in the garden. We got a lot better by the end, but we’re still rubbish.
After Alex finished worked we sat in the sitting room and Leila talked to her cousin Karim for a long while. She wanted to give him reassurance and it sounded like it was taken super well. We opened a 2017 Chianti that Leila thought tasted weird, and then had a delicious dinner made by Leila. Miso vegetables with tempeh, was crazy tasty. We then had a Pri’s pudding and did a question game and talked about economic models of divorce, consistency in personality and Cambridge. By about 10/11pm we were super tired and went straight to sleep, Leila actually had a small nap on the sofa.
