Day 13: Unlucky for some

Monday 30 March 2020

Leila woke up with her migraine and dizziness, but fortunately her stomach had settled a little which meant she could enjoy her daily berry and almond butter porridge as she settled into work. Alex had a lie in and woke up to Leila making a coffee for him (roles have reversed). Unfortunately it was not as good as her first try but it was decent. This was the first morning we did not have a coffee / break outside together. Weather was a bit grim and Leila was moody and not feeling great.

Leila worked through the morning and actually got quite a lot done. She also ordered a grocery delivery from The Camden Grocer (store we went to last weekend) and £40 worth of tahini, pickles, black rice and aubergine mezze. Alex finished his policy memo and wrote a case study about heat resistant vaccines. For lunch, grilled broccoli and courgette with Gail’s sourdough and some tuna. We also took advantage of the Disney+ subscription and watched the first ever episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody over lunch.

Afternoon was more of the same. Leila worked diligently and Alex read Heinlein’s “Time for The Stars” before joining his micro lecture at 6.15pm. Meanwhile, Leila realised she was in a bad mood and so decided to correct it by doing a virtual barre class with Joohee upstairs and then washed her hair. It worked. It also helped that Alex made a really nice dinner of creamy broccoli gnocchi with mustard and lemon (2 great ingredients), finished off with a Pri’s Pudding for dessert. We then read together on the sofa and Alex finished his book, before heading to bed for another early-ish evening. But not before doing a late night bedsheet wash.
