Leila woke up at 7.45am late for her barre class with Joohee. To her surprise, Alex was already awake and reading. She rushed down to start the class and midway through the leg section, Alex entered the kitchen in attempt to make coffee but was quickly told to leave. Instead, he went for a shower. Leila then went to the bathroom and noticed that Alex had used 2 new towels (she had already hung up his first towel upstairs the day before and told him where it was so he wouldn’t forget). That’s 3 towels in use. At once. She told him off*, but he made it up to her with a coffee with her face on it and she was happy.

*The night before we talked about the things we might start bickering about. There wasn’t much on the list, but Leila being fussy about household tidiness was definitely there.
Alex then started racing through his macro but thankfully the deadline was delayed. He began making a huge bake of potatoes, spinach, tomatoes and cheese served with a (not so) homemade Linda McCartney pie. We then both worked solidly for lunch to evening. Leila took a break to make veggie chilli ready for dinner but, after tasting it, was horrified to learn that the kidney beans she used were in a sugary sauce (shame on you, Waitrose). She tried to counterbalance this by adding lots more lemon, spices and coriander but it couldn’t be fully saved. Meanwhile, Alex sat upstairs doing lectures, including presenting his Ethiopian Tax video and listening to the rest of his class’ presentations. He noticed just how similar all the presentations created by consultants were. Leila stopped work at 7pm and headed for a walk because her back was hurting. She walked past Sainsbury’s, Lidl, M&S and Aldi and the only one without a queue was Aldi so she popped in for some essentials — pumpkin seeds, kale, almond butter, olive oil, freshly squeezed orange juice and chillis. The streets were remarkably busy. On her return, she prepared some veg and salad to go with the chilli. Whilst dinner was cooking, Alex read his sci fi book whilst Leila finished off her Spanish drama from the night before. Alex was pretending not to be interested but kept asking what was going on.
After dinner, we finished the rest of Inside Out. Momentous occasion. First movie we had ever finished together (We tried sci fi movies and romcoms in the past and never managed to get through a full movie.. apparently Disney is the happy compromise).
