Alex woke up late, at about 1000 and he was way more chipper, he was almost bouncing off the walls. Leila had not slept very well and so was deep in work by the time Alex came downstairs, she had already made herself a coffee, so Alex made his own and worked opposite her. Leila had a good chat with our neighbour Kay in the morning about making sourdough and she sent Leila a local Camden Town sustainability group’s newsletter, which included a Sourdough making class this Thursday. The photo below sums up the moods of the two in the house. Alex sped through his to do list, adding his policy memo to a blog, then working through the other side-projects during his lectures (which didn’t require much concentration on Tuesday).
Alex made a lunch of vegetables and the spaghetti, and saved a big portion of veg for Leila once she finished her work and could take a break. Alex quickly munched down his lunch as Leila wanted to go for a walk to perk herself up and leave the house for a bit (they had not left the day before). We wandered out in random directions, and Alex found a short-cut to the canal and they kept stringently to the sun, the whole walk. They wandered up to Camden, and then did a massive loop the whole way back. When they got home, Leila ate Alex’s veg with a salad and went straight back into work.
Alex had a couple of lectures, and then had a hour ‘random coffee chat’ with 4 friends at 1700 or their lunch, was really nice and interesting to hear how they’d reacted to Covid in very different ways, Racceb was in Cambridge with her bf watching Harry Potter, Ruben in Mexico with his family, and Mercedes was stuck in Boston because of a visa situation. He had a discussion about dData with his entrepreneurship professor and didn’t come away much the wiser but had a really good talk about Thick data with a World Bank professor in the evening. Leila took a work break to do a yoga session on AloMoves trying out a teacher that Misha recommended. She really enjoyed it minus the handstand / arm balance which she did not attempt. She was also doing yoga to put off the 5k run she had been nominated to do 3 times by this point. She will get there..

When Leila finished work at 2000 she started cooking parsnips and made a really nice dinner of parsnips, mushroom burger (slightly soggy) and kimchi (Alex had his potatoes). As a starter because Leila was dead from work, Alex made her tea and toast which she proceeded to dip and make soggy which seems odd to Alex but is something she grew up doing with her dad. After dinner in the sitting room, they read books together before going to bed and heading to sleep. Leila heard a weird buzzing noise but we couldn’t get to the bottom of it…
