Day 54: Saving Monday Blues

Leila woke up and started work. She was feeling not very energised for the day, which is weird for her, despite it being Monday. She worked a bit in the morn, but felt like she wasn’t getting anything done. They regrouped upstairs in the sitting room, and wrote the birthday blog for ages (it had so many photos and clues). L didn’t want to go back so A suggested they did some accomplishment exercise, so they planked for 2 minutes to Roxanne (a bit longer because Alex forgot to start the stopwatch until L reminded him). They then went downstairs together and Alex played games instead of revising for his exam the next day, and L worked hard. A was wearing his full new outfit, new short socks, tracksuit, Leila’s Fara t-shirt and L’s baggy jumper. He made himself an early Lunch including some of Bernard who is huge and also recieved his birthday card from his Grandma which was super nice. He tried to call her but couldn’t get through, he would try the next day. L carried on working but still wasn’t feeling that hot about it. L chatted to her grandma and A jumped in and said hi, her grandma was happy but busy when they tried to chat.

L did a few hours work in the afternoon but mainly was thinking about houses and jobs. A sat outside and did some revision and started his Myanmar research. He also found a few houses for L to look at and texted them to her from 10m away. Just before 6, A suggested a walk and L said yes without even thinking about the fact that it was still a working day (and she had done minimal work). They set off and first checked out the little convenience store round the corner which had some fun Indian goodies. Then they went to Primrose Hill and chatted lots about how much we do in life because it makes us feel like we’ve accomplished something (e.g. buying house, doing something “productive” to make you feel better). L felt happy that A could boost her mood so much. They saw a cute fam playing cricket in Primrose Hill before heading through Regent’s Park on the way back, a little worried it might start to rain. The walk ended up being really long and we went through a couple of estates and chatted about how A bought his flat and all the research his mum did. L thought they felt like a married couple.

They went back to the convenience store on the way home and L picked up her instant tofu paneer and A picked up actual paneer amongst other things: chocolate mini weetabix, fruit pastels, Ribena, cornett, Rubicon, etc. On return they cooked the instant tofu which was a little tasteless but interesting and made so much better by the new lime pickle they had bought. This was paired with yet more potato cake and Bernard. A had some more cocktails though he felt a little weird about it but L convinced him it would make him happy (and it did). They they watched the final episode of The Mandalorian – the baby gets saved!
