Day 65: Three-way Zoom Date

A came downstairs at around 9, and found that L had already had a super productive day, she’d smashed out half-an-hours work and had a call at 9.30. A had been scouting out (and dreaming of?) potential solutions to his coding challenges (he had to admit it to Leila when she saw him super pensive and he was embarressed). He asked L to make him a coffee, which she did but she had to run onto a call so it was super nice while he showered. L had infinite calls, but had a pillates class at 1pm with the lady that she liked. They worked quite separately with A trying to solve why his version of Commons wouldn’t publish but also more broadly what he could do to push the project forward; he’d hit a bit of a capability wall and had a lie outside in the sun to chill out. He also did his shaving outside because he had to prevent haris getting in the bathroom, it actually worked quite well.

In the afternoon, L had infinite calls from 2/3pm onwards, and A decided to go out for a run, after he managed to make Commons work (he needed to run build). It was super nice and he sent pics to L to come join him but she was still on calls. He ran into a new part of the park and it had a rock garden and loads of roses. When he got back L had had a covo with Freddie about Bristol FC of whom Freddie had been on a call with the manager. A had ruminated and decided that the most productive bit of coding he could do was to get ‘Mantaray’ working with Commons as it was more data sciency so he started working on that when he returned.

L had a mini celebration when she finished calls at around 6pm. She had a super long shower, taking it slow and then they headed out for a glass of wine in the last of the sun before their call. They didn’t have long so they walked outside the gas towers and had a chilled bottle of Rose. They headed back early though because it was pretty blustery and actually quite cold (A had misinformed L earlier and promissed her it would be hot).

When they got home, A started cooking his mini-wellingtons and L made them some padron peppers as a snack while they had their 3 way date call with Evie and Ed. They caught up on zoom and it was super nice and they got along really well, lots of jokes about D-Locks, Cambridge and Covid-life. Highlight was defintiely Evie not realising who L was and asking her where she went to university (they were in the same class for 3 years).

After the call, they had the veggie wellingtons and finished off the Rose wine, they were super good and Alex was pretty pleased. They headed to bed soon after, as they had a big day of cycling ahead of them!
