L hadn’t slept well and when they woke up, A had to go find her and they went into work together quite demotivated. L looked a bit like a zombie again, and A was worried, she kept stopping working because she was tired. They didn’t do much in the morning except work. A had a call with Lydia K who was the ex MPAID who worked for the WB and it helped A realise that the work he was doing was typical of a short term consultant, but there is the potential to work closer with other people (but maybe not that much). A ate leftover pie for lunch and L forced herself to a a live Instagram workout which was actually better than expected. A was doing research into his World Bank work and was writing up his literature review, but he kept getting demotivated because he felt like it was just him alone. L had a little salad with falafels for lunch which she enjoyed but was on back to back calls and kept having to turn the camera off so she could take bites. A watched some CogX on YouTube.
L didn’t do much in the afternoon, her work was piling up and she was getting frustrated and also got chased on some Ismaili work she hadn’t done (totally non urgent). She decided to cook an Ethiopian curry to eat with the Injera. Meanwhile, at 5pm, A had a chat with Clement and talked about how life has been in Boston and on the difference in perception of Equality in France and America. L worked until 7pm and had reached maximum frustration levels, and wondered whether it was lack of sleep or something else. She shut her laptop and phone down, and did a little cleaning with A. The highlight was moving the suitcases up from the hallway to the loft. Then they watched a little One Tree Hill and A did some Togo work, before eating dinner. The Ethiopian food was nice and had improved since Friday’s attempt. Leila added peanut butter and honey to her leftover Injera for dessert and it was yummy. Afterwards, they watched a bit more OTH and A declared that he was officially engaged and wanted to continue watching with L. She was super happy but had enough of TV so went upstairs to read whilst A finished some more Togo work. They headed to bed in a different bed for a change and A did a Headspace meditation which L dozed off in.
