Leila woke better, as she’d slept a decentish night in the big bed. We worked together in the dining room and made coffee, it was super nice and we sat outside together and wrote the blog in the sun. It was one of the last sunny days of the week. Alex found a cat, and was super happy playing with it for a while.
A & L just worked together and it was nice. A focussed on improving his literature review and L did her work. They planned to head to L’s fam’s house at 2pm, and were super lucky when L’s daily call with Helen was pushed back. It meant that A had time to get to know the Myanmar WB team which was nice. They then jumped into a car after the call and it felt super rebellious heading to Barnet in the middle of the day. They drove up and A was super happy to get out of London. Roxanne came on the radio and they knew it from the first few bars. They stopped off at Bluebells on the way, and grabbed a few coffees (one for Iman) . They arrived and unfortunately needed to jump straight on calls, but not before eating some delicious pastries prepared by L’s Mum. They did the calls, and L’s dad arrived partway through, everyone retreated into their studies, and A & L placed themselves by the conservatory door or in the garden. After an initial 30 mins, L had finished her call and realised everyone was busy. They worked and occasionally had little chats until they planned to go for a long walk in the countryside at 6pm. A chatted to L’s parents about locations, growing up in different places and giving birth to the kids. They made it up to a pond not far away but had to turn back early to get home in time for Mansoor’s call in the eve. The had a super nice salmon and seabass dinner with vegetables and then chatted for a while afterwards, both with Iman, Neleen and L’s Granny in Canada (the latter showed us her whole apartment and was super happy about it). They then chatted on the sofa until heading home around 10pm. After a long drive back they went pretty much straight to bed, partly because L had got super bad hay fever again and couldn’t breathe through her nose the whole way home.
