Leila doesn’t recall anything exciting happening in the morning other than work. Alex made a bit potato-filled baguette for lunch using the Ethiopian curry leftovers. He then headed upstairs to join the Harvard remotee catch-up he had set up on Zoom which was really nice, especially as it was at a more friendly hour for his classmates in India. Leila worked through the afternoon until Liyana arrived on her way back from Sheffield at 6pm. She gave Liyana some cheese and crackers and tried to chat to her a bit, but was still trying to work at the same time and was a bit stressed. Alex tried to chat to Liyana too as he knew Leila was a bit overwhelmed with work at that moment. He was also simultaneously making the biggest Salmon en croute Leila had ever seen. Leila forgot she had told her friend Rumi they would go for a walk that evening, and even though she wanted a break after work, she decided seeing the dog and her friend might cheer her up. She left Alex and Liyana at home and headed to Barnsbury to meet Rumi and Mango (his dog) in the park. They walked to Highbury fields together which was really nice as Leila hadn’t seen him since December and had never been to Highbury fields. However, sadly Mango was a bit overexcited and less cuddly than Leila hoped. She learnt that Rumi’s team makes him stay on a Zoom call throughout the day at work which feels a bit invasive, and was glad her team doesn’t do that. Meanwhile, in Kings Cross, Liyana had left not long after Leila did and Alex logged on to chat to Diego who is living in his room in Harvard. They had a really nice chat and A had some beers. He had the dinner ready when L got back and they had a yummy dinner of Salmon En Croute with potatoes, leeks and broccoli.
