Leila set her alarm for 9am to try and have a lie in but sadly woke up a lot before. A also woke up pretty early and came to join L who was in the loft. He tried to beat her to the coffee machine but she won, and them made him the first coffee because she’s nice. L had a chilled morning after the emotion of the previous day’s session and was generally quite happy. She went to Lidl at lunch to pick up ingredients for dinner. They both spent a while looking at B&Bs for their holiday but didn’t find one they both loved.
Alex made lots of sausages for lunch and was working on WB stuff. In the afternoon, he went for a walk to chat to Ashan and Pankhuri and then went upstairs to chat to Ed Balls and George Osborne who were doing a COVID G20 role play and A was Xi Jingping. It was super interesting, especially hearing their experiences of the real world importances of administrative / informal deadlines (e.g. not giving people food so they reach a conclusion and having the agreement already made before the people entire the room). He also enjoyed that they were bantering between them despite being enemies previously. Meanwhile, L started cooking a Burmese tomato fish curry with the ingredients she picked up earlier – lemongrass, tamarind, shrimp paste, cod. She really enjoyed cooking it and eating it, and said it was better than Thai curries. They finished it all off and tried to watch the first Premier League match with no spectators which was Arsenal v Man City but Sky Go didn’t but Alex found a stream within 1min. At 9pm, A joined a call with Sam and Roukaya and they chatted about Sam’s travels around the US and the BLM protests and all the people she was meeting. Meanwhile L got into bed and read her book for ages and she felt really zen. When A came back, he finished off the match in bed and watched the analysis whilst L dozed off.
They also tried to figure out how to use Instagram filters quite unsuccessfully.
