Leila woke up ahead of her alarm as usual and came downstairs to start work. She did quite a bit in the morning and chatted to Mony, Krystle and TDG about her diversity sessions during the day. Although it has been a bit of a frustrating few weeks, she’s happy that the work her team has done to organise diversity sessions has inspired others to do the same with their teams – she worked with Krystle to email a partner in IBD to suggest a similar structure, and she told TDG they should also set up a diversity council within CExp too. Alex came down a little later. He did some WB work and they had lunch together outside – A had pad thai and L had a tuna salad. A went for a run in the afternoon and ended up by Chapel Market where he picked up some oysters from a man who catches them daily. L worked all afternoon and had calls until 6pm. Then at around 7pm A opened some nice sparkling white wine from Lidl and they sat outside with the oysters. They chatted about whether they spend enough quality time together as L was feeling a bit down. They oysters were yummy and reminded them of New York, and A also put jazz on in the background. Then it started raining which put a dampener on A’s plans to go to a pub for pizza (which was actually Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant) but L convinced them to go anyways as she hadn’t left the house. They went to Wholefoods to pick up weird snacks for L (she took ages to pick) and then got the vegan pizza with aubergine and pesto and sat in Regents Park to eat. The pizza was yummy and it was nice, though a bit grey. Then they headed back and Leila ate half a cookie which tipped her over the edge despite Alex telling her not to. They watched United v Spurs and L was getting super annoyed by Mourinho’s moods and much preferred watching football with no fans when there were fake fan noises. Then her stomach was hurting post dinner and cookie so she squatted for a bit. Alex started looking for potential staycation locations and they headed to bed, and chatted for a bit before going to bed.
