We woke up early again, keeping to the 8.30 wake-up and A worked in bed again before coming down to see L and getting a coffee together. In the morn, L’s order of loads of plantain crisps arrived, it was literally just a box of crisps. A was feeling demotivated (once more) while L prepared for her diversity council. They checked out whether they could cancel their Somerset holiday (the answer was yes!) and L looked into Croatian hotels, she planned to book the whole holiday in one day – pretty impressive.
A was feeling like garbage and was getting no real work done, so he messaged Mish and suggested he work there with her, it was super nice and he set up on the kitchen table, with Charlie in his basket and occasionally giving nuzzles. A felt a lot better seeing the river and after the cycle, he actually got some work done as well as emailing other options for the coming year. It was nice chatting to Mish as well and they discussed deferral, the flat and motivations. L had a super crazy busy day and got loads done: Minasha’s handover, diversity council meeting, WCSI, etc. and didn’t leave her desk for the entire time while A was not there. In particular, she wished the WCSI was more outside her comfort zone, as she appeared to have thought more deeply than all the other people. L chatted to her mum and Liyana, the latter had got a job offer in Cardiff, and she put together the full itinerary of Croatia.
L’s friend Sinar came to visit at 7ish, they chatted and walked to CDY together, they had some deep chats and it was super nice to catch up. A cycled to Krook’s house in Hackney for beer and dumplings. He initially messed up by not realising that Boris Bikes did not extend that far, and so had to turn back and walk the last half-hour. It was a super nice catch up and then they played dog bingo and watched chelsea lose in the background. A was upset about the loss but enjoyed the bingo.
A took the bus back (wearing a mask) because there weren’t any boris bikes but there was a direct bus. When he got back, he was pretty late 11pm, and had some quick potatoes before joining L in bed.
