They had thought about heading to Angel to see Anish, but ended up having a lie in instead. A got up super early at 6am and spent a couple of hours trying to fix his laptop (it’d broken within a day) and then jumped back into bed with L at 8am. They dozed until 10 and decided to head southwards for a change for coffee. L felt like she wanted a walk in the morning so they went to Half Cup which had a few tables occupied (mostly inside – people are excited about being able to sit inside now) but not many considering how busy it usually is. They had a nice coffee and read an article in The Economist about Joe Biden. L suddenly craved a croissant and they went to the patisserie down the road run by a little old couple and she bought a croissant that was 10/10 and a little quiche for A. A went to the newsagents to buy baked beans and salt as he had big plans to make a full english inspired by Half Cup’s menu. L was sceptical as he had D&D later and she was sure he’d forget to eat, but was proved wrong.
L then walked to Covent Garden listening to The Economist en route whilst A went back home to play D&D. She walked to Zara which was less disappointing than the day before but still not great, and sat in Neal’s Yard for a little bit having a salad and crackers and enjoyed some alone time. Then she called Ruki on the walk back. A was in full D&D mode when she arrived but immediately got up to show her his photos of lunch (despite her needing a wee really badly) and L was impressed and wants the same food for her.
L then did some admin, emails and Croatia research before going on a walk to CDY to return something to Cos. She then came back to start her JFR call about secrets to success, which was nice but really long. Alex continued D&D upstairs and they snuck into a cemetery for 4 hours. L was texting Anish midway through the JFR call and they arranged for him to come over for a drink at 5.45pm. L logged off the call at 5.35pm because she was getting super tired by it, and Anish arrived 1 minute later! A finished his games and they headed to CDY for a drink and chose to go to The Lighterman to sit on the outdoor upstairs balcony (despite having brought a bottle of wine in a tote bag with them) The Lighterman was also super empty considering how busy it usually is. Anish saw lots of beautiful people (particularly the couple behind us) and seemed really happy. They told him they wanted to meet Daniel next time together and discussed race for quite a bit. They also discussed how they should go to all the restaurants on their lists now given they are all so empty. Anish had a Riesling, Leila a carrot & ginger juice and Alex a beer. It was quite windy (the plants were literally falling over) but sunny, so they moved inside after a bit.
Then they went back home and L cooked roasted cauliflower and broccoli and miso beans with spinach. Then L was feeling quite overwhelmed with social contact and wanted some time to herself so she watched 1 episode of OTH whilst A watched MOTD upstairs and then she headed to bed to read. A joined her and continued doing a bit of Python/gaming and L fell asleep next time. He also confirmed he was deferring for the year and, again, chose not to tell L until after.
