Day 112: Getting Clean

L was already in Barnet, so A woke up alone at 7 am to the sound of his 9 alarms he’d set across 3 devices. He quickly got ready and decided not to eat or drink anything before the dentist appointment, he jumped on (just in time) to the early 7.42 train and quickly sent a text to L. She woke up just then, and had to rush to get ready and into the car to pick A up when he got to the station. They headed over (in Iman’s car) to the house, they had a (super weak) coffee and did a little work before heading to the practice. When they got there, they were treated really well, and were the only people allowed into the waiting room. L went first while A filled his forms and had a check-up with her dad. They both had the hygienist after, he was super chatty with Leila and super enthusiastic with A – he was using a manual scaler and went to town on A’s gums.

They went to Sainsbury’s to pick up some extra food, including nice salmon. Then they headed home and had a brunch – L had porridge with lots friend, A had 2 veggie pies and mum had some of the nice rye and spelt bread that we’d bought. Then they worked for bit and A did his coding. The family kept coming in and out for chats, L was not the most productive. L listened to the women’s network Black experiences townhall where Steph was speaking. Then L went to pick up the car from the garage with Liyana and Mum and was impressed by the garage’s Coronavirus precautions (e.g. wipes to open the car door) and was happy they cleaned the car for free. Then she came home and they both had the lunch of scrambled eggs thanks to Liyana and posh bread and smoked salmon. Then she had multiple calls back to back but also managed to do some unpacking at the same time (and concentrated more on those calls). Meanwhile, A was watching some of the cricket whilst doing his coding. At 6pm L headed to Suzanne’s house where she chatted about their lives and kids and waxing (L was over the moon). She came back and dinner was ready thanks to mum, who had made some potato curry, sweetcorn curry and indian rice with rotli. A had been watching Wolves v Sheffield and chatting to Iman.

They had dinner with mum and iman, and chatted about Habs and different school experiences. Then they packed up stuff for holiday and both had some fruit before driving back to 27 Goldington. They immediately got ready for bed and chatted for a bit before going to bed late.
