A woke up early to get ready for a chat with Jakob from QB Australia, he had three calls set up for the morning to talk through the Product Manager position within QB Labs. L got down first and made a cup of coffee because she’s the best, and he headed upstairs for the call. They went reasonably well, although he initially struggled to say why he wanted to shift to be a product manager as it was pretty new to him too. He then stayed upstairs and had calls with Davide, a partner in Milan, and Carlo, a partner from London QB, currently living off the coast of italy on a secluded island. L started work and then went for a walk, and picked up A a vegan sausage roll, she was really impressed by the cautions at Greggs and use of PPE. Because Greggs was so far down, she went to coffee jar, but they were really slow so she waited for 15 mins and chatted to her mentee, then she came back and worked.
In the afternoon, A went back to doing some World Bank data linking, which he quite enjoyed, and then had a Forum Call with his classmates from Harvard, it was nice and quite fun, with Clement giving wine tasting advice, and it does make him miss Harvard every time. After they both finished work, they initially thought to meet some of A’s friends but they pulled out, so instead they decided to surprise Iman by turning up at the pub where she had just been (she’s just moved into a new house that day). They arrived in Maida Vale and decided that they couldn’t turn up with just champagne, so they headed to sainsbury’s and walked along the waterway. The area was super pretty and they took lots of photos, they saw a couple crazy PDAing (which horrified L and she will remember forever) and then they picked up a succulent and some salt and vinegar crisps from Sainsbury’s.
When they to the pub, Iman had already left, so they ended up visiting her house, and gave her presents. They stayed only breifly before heading back. The place was super nice and well decorated, it felt a little like a hotel. They planned to go to Edinburgh castle pub, but it was shut, so they went to CDY, where they found it to be super busy and (surprisingly) they couldn’t get a table. They ended up at a mexican restaurant where L decided she craved fish tacos, they bought two but only stayed at the restaurant for a max of 20 mins before heading onwards again. It was their first sit inside restaurant though which it turns out they don’t feel that comfortable with (even though they took their temperature at the door).

When they got back, A put a pastry full of sweet potato and falafel in the over, while L ate loads of almond butter. L’s stomach felt a bit weird though, so they went upstairs and L headed to bed early while A finished off his pastry and joined her.
