L woke up and started working at 8.30am on the kitchen counter in Norfolk. A woke up shortly after and showered. They decided to head to Holt for coffee (yes, a 20 min drive each way for coffee) because L had seen a coffee shop recommendation on Instagram for Holt (from one of her fave London based coffee shops) the night before and thought it was a sign. They pulled up a little cafe on a side road and had a nice chat with the barista and owner, who had loads of different types of beans. They had the coffee outside in the sun and L logged on briefly at the cafe. The coffee was nice and super smooth. They then went to Apollo Coffee, another one that came up in a coffee blog, and A got his second coffee but it was less nice (and they didn’t have Oatly).
They then drove home and L went deep into preparation for her afternoon diversity session on solutions to racism, but she wasn’t feeling very well and had a migraine and was a bit shivery. She made toast and some tofu for lunch, and that made her feel a bit better. A had some halloumi and potatoes. She sent A outside whilst she did her diversity session and he want on a nice walk to the Wighton railway station. The session went well but she felt she could have prepared and done more, but really just wasn’t feeling very well at this point and was getting a little nervous about the drive back late at night. She finished off a few calls but then called it a day around 4pm and they headed back early back towards Barnet. They stopped off at Newmarket on the way home and used a toilet in a very empty shopping centre (save for some men arguing) and went to Boots where L couldn’t decide between almond butter popcorn and salt and vinegar crisps, so she bought both. They arrived in Barnet at 7pm and A jumped on a call with his Dev401 crew whilst L showered. L didn’t want to come near parents as she wasn’t feeling well but they took her temperature and she was fine, so mum hugged her straight away and told her she was being silly. Then they had dinner with parents, mum had prepared salmon, cabbage and potatoes and they had amazing dhokra to start. Then they had some cheesecake and berries and watched a little of the United match (they were winning 2-1 at this point). Then they jumped in the car to go to the station to head back to Kings Cross and had to combine all their bags into a few., but had to sacrifice a few things because they couldn’t carry it. A wanted to sacrifice L’s sweet potato, and L wanted to sacrifice A’s regular potatoes.. so they left both with mum and prioritised the 24 toilet rolls L had bought. They arrived back in Kings Cross and A went straight onto a call with Hannah and Sam and mainly discussed students trying to sue Harvard over online tuition fees. He also did some laundry and tidying up simultaneously. L was still feeling gross and headed to bed as soon as they got back, watching One Tree Hill before sleeping. She was super glad to be back home and have done the drive safely.
