Day 136/137: The worst of days (Chelsea lose the FA cup) L had quite a good weekend on the farm

L needed to head to David’s house in the morning, and the cleaner was scheduled for 9am. It was a mad house, and L had a long shower which was unusual for her. A logged onto D&D at 9 and L ran around like crazy sorting the house and packing, and stressed about not having a spare Henry hoover bag. She made overnight oats and set off on her way to Paddington where she met Anish and got on the train to Swindon. Meanwhile, A was playing D&D but not really engaging and stressed about whether to pay the cleaner for the extra 30mins she did.

L arrived at Rose Cottage in Wiltshire and fed the pigs, moved 300 sheep, saw David skin a deer, drove a tractor, watched the combine harvest wheat and went on a long walk with David, Arabella, Anish and the 3 dogs. She learnt loads about the farm and food supply chain and loved. For dinner, they cooked trout for L, venison for boys and Arabella, pasta for Anish and had some nice white wine. L was so happy and thankful that Arabella had gone out of her way to prepare the house and food especially for them (she bought L’s fave brand of tahini and PB). Meanwhile, A went to Chiswick at 4pm ahead of the Chelsea v Arsenal FA cup final. He hung out with dad and Misha and was coding a little thru the match. To his dismay, Chelsea did not perform and they lost 1-2. L was worried about him when she checked the score. A had pizza with the family and chatted about living situation, dad’s work and how they’d been. He then went off and worked upstairs before heading back to KGX late that evening.

L woke up on Sunday not having slept well and little did she know, Alex had not been able to sleep that well either. Nor had Arabella and so they had a slow tea, porridge (with redcurrants and Manlife, yum) and chill in the morning whilst Anish had a little lie in. In London, A had to wake up early for D&D again but was not feeling it and felt exhausted. L then went on a long walk and ended up at the pub with David, Arabella, Anish and Henry and then they headed back to the house for a BBQ of roast veggies, more trout and venison. They also tried David’s sheeps milk and yoghurt, which were both great. L fell in love with the Aga and made crumpets, porridge and a quail’s egg on it. They fed the pigs and quails and then headed back to London. Alex was not the happiest person back in London as he had a lot to do ahead of his dData presentation to the ADB. He met L at Granger & Co for a work break as she arrived back and they de-briefed for a bit. L came home and was feeling like she had a lot of allergies so showered and watched OTH whilst A worked. She was happy to be back with him and had missed him over the weekend.

For dinner, L made a rice bowl with tempeh, mushrooms, radish, ginger, pickled cucumber etc. and they ate it outside before A returned to work and L chilled / read upstairs. A went through his presentation with L and had made some good progress. He stopped around 10pm and they headed up to bed.
