Leila woke up having slept a lot better, but had still woken up loads in the night. Alex lay in a little bit but not for long as he had to get started on some work for the WB. L set off to Granger & Co because it was sunny. She (supposedly) found a spot in the shade but by the time A arrived, it was a furnace again. They sat there happily anyway with their laptops topping their laps and had oat flat whites each. After a while, they decided to get some brunch given EOTHO and settled on some sweetcorn fritters (confirmed no dill) and halloumi, plus avo salsa. It took the a while, and once again the staff there seemed amazed by their niche detailed requests, but they love them and L made friends with the waitress. Whilst eating they chatted about A being far from his friends in America and next year’s living situ. A then ran back to the house to send off some WB work and L followed shortly after, did a quick pilates and then settled in for another hectic afternoon of b2b calls. A went to meet Paloma in Caravan for a few hours where he helped with her McKinsey interviews and they then came back to the house to finish off. They convinced Caravan to give them 50pc off drinks too. L took a break from calls to chat to Paloma and A for a bit and realised they have a similar background. They also bonded over A’s lack of knowledge of cultural sites/restaurants outside of West London but including Petersham Nurseries in Richmond Park. Then A and L both started cooking. L did miso aubergine in a salad with some juicy mushrooms and a grilled corn on the cob salsa thing. Also she had made potatoes earlier for A as she was freaking out that she’d have to eat them alone when he went away. A made 3 beautiful pastries with more mushrooms, cheese and spinach with our first initials on the top. Iman arrived at 7.30 and they started with some red wine and padron peppers and then brought out the feast.
Iman was in a super chatty mood and they talked about her moving out, how A should take L to South America and her views on love and marriage. She kept complimenting A (and L a bit) and it was nice to have her over. She headed off and then A did some admin and then they both watched baby videos on youtube (L did not like the ones where they fell off things) before sleeping a little bit late.
