Wednesday
It was a super sweaty night and L didn’t get much sleep, unlike A who passed out per usual despite the 35 degree inferno. They worked downstairs in the morning, and L went out to granger and co for a coffee at 10.30. L sat down at the bar and it felt like old times, she likes the manager who she gives a hard time to with all her requests (she requested a high-kale bespoke version of the juice this time). A had a call with Ana, his friend from HKS, and they caught up and did a McKinsey practice case in order to prep for her interview in September. After the morning, A doubled down on trying to do Tableau for his World Bank work and was pretty pleased with the results. He had a quick sausage roll and salad for lunch, while L had a tofu salad.
Chaos reigned in the afternoon when L tried to get onto a work call but O2 have collapsed in North London and none of our calls were working, A managed to get a Skype call through wifi going and L joined her call 15 mins late, she brought him up some toast and cheese as a thank you.
A’s call with World Bank was cancelled because Tableau was being difficult, but he called into the roomies chat with Ashan and Rashmi and caught with them which was great and fun. He then came down and did watering with leila for garden, it was done so much faster now they know what they’re doing. A then cycled away to do another McK case practice with Paloma and to view her flat (near the Roundhouse). L meanwhile had a super emotional call with one of her colleagues about diversity and then she worked until she chatted to Tony about who made her feel better. She then watched One Tree Hill while getting annoyed A hadn’t returned yet.
When A got back they headed to Dishoom and A had messed up by not realising they were going to be 5 people on a table for 4, but it worked out and the fam all got around and had super nice Indian food and many drinks. They chatted about house buying, economics, and new jobs / startups. It was really nice and then A’s mum, dad and sister came by for a quick G&T before heading home. Then they chatted for ages again, which they really need to tone down if they’re going to sleep at a reasonable time.
