L had a bad night’s sleep in the loft so ended up in her bedroom. She had a diversity call at 9am and then worked through her emails in the morning and figured out her plan for the week. It was already feeling a bit overwhelming to be back in the office. A came down and they headed to Granger & Co for 50% off coffee and worked there for a bit before L tried to get them into Dishoom for breakfast (there was a 45 min wait). They then both worked through the morning and L started making lunch of sweet potatoes but then her eyebrow threading lady called her and said she could come home but needed picking up from the station and dropping. L ran off to see her and it was cute. She was happy to give her the business as she’s a sweet old lady who has been quite unwell. She had her eyebrows done and A had finished off making lunch which they ate together outside. A had a catch up with Chris, Hannah and Sam and Chris had got engaged! Meanwhile, in an attempt to use the remaining shortcrust that had been in the fridge for way too long, L made some cheese and Tabasco twist pastries for A and a decaf coffee. They both worked right up until 7pm and A had a million things to finish off.
A bought Cam’s Kickstarter game and he reached his target in under 3 hours which is amazing.
L put a dress on and A a white shirt and real trousers. It was the first time L had ever seen him dressed up like that. They headed to Barrafina and got the best seat in the house at the bar right in front of the head chef who was blonde on the top and brunette bearded. He was amazing and L was so impressed. They spent ages listening to him order everyone about in Spanish and saw how everyone clearly respected him. They were surprised that he literally signed off on every single dish that left the kitchen and put the finishing touches on each of them. He moved at such pace and didn’t look up at all. Any questions went straight to him and he looked like his was in a flow zone. They ate: a courgette flower with cheese, some little balls with cod and potatoes, hake with a nice sauce and bread to mop it up, and prawn tortilla. £30 for both for a michelin star restaurant, quite amazing. They also drunk unlimited sparkling water which L regretted a few hours later in the middle of the night. L was happy she was with A because she didn’t need to talk to him and could instead just watch what was going on in the restaurant and listen to the Spanish. They did chat a little bit and L got excited for a potential Vancouver trip. When they came back they talked about type 1 and 2 relationships before going to bed. L was very very pleased before bed and she felt really lucky and like she was on holiday. They did a little reading together in bed before falling asleep happy and full.
