Day 154: Fighting Fires and Social Media

We woke up and L woke up SUPER early and she read the news in bed, which she loved, but didn’t love the lack of sleep, we are still searching for how to give L the dreamy dream sleep that she got on holiday in Wales. Maybe A needs to put on a Welsh accent and give her terrible breakfasts… L realised that her table reservation at Laphet was non-existent and that A had been led on a terrible terrible lie. A got up and had a call at 9am with the World Bank, it was similar to usual with A being quite frustrated afterwards which he moaned a bit to L about but she was so busy that she blended him into her background. It was raining. This is important context. For lunch they both had their archetypal lunches, with A having fried frozen goodness and L having an Oaty porridge. They were both quite happy with their food but miserable about their days.

L spent her whole day fighting fires, while A publicised dData which was good but he found exhausting because he had to think about words and couldn’t just spill them onto the screen as he is doing now. L also did her tax return, which she didn’t find particularly fun. And A went out to Lidl, HSBC and the tailors to resolve some life admin, which included fixing the zip of his jeans. £12 is a rip off for a zip which has been ripped off but I have no idea how to bargain over this. Should’ve sent it to Goldman. He then came home to tidy up the bag draw which he did as a clear move to de-stress L and also to avoid having to go onto social media. It looks beautiful though, the folded bags are amazing – h learnt it off a tidying board in reddit.

In the eve, L did her Ritual class for the first time at 1800, it was super good and she loved it, it was a blend of hard yoga, candles and pilates and airboxing which sounds weird, but she’s weird. A did a bit of World Bank work trying to understand how some researchers had measured satellite road time traction, odd but surprisingly satisfying (and cool), while L carried on fighting fires like a boss. A cooked a pasta dinner while L had a shower, he made spelt pasta with lemon, cream, mushroom, chilli and samphire, all the stuff that was reaching it’s sell by date. It was super good and L put it up with her best A dinners. Then chatted and vented about their days, L watched a bit of a new Spanish TV drama called velvet, which is a carbon copy of Cable Girls but this time they are in a clothes manufacturer, even the character look the same. A played games and then they chatted and went to bed, with the aim of reading but they chatted and chilled instead and went to sleep a little late.
