L woke up super early and was showered and watching TV by the time A came down, L was heading off on her long day out. She headed to West Hampstead. First stop was the farmer’s market from which she bought some pickles. Then she headed to Intermission which is a coffee shop that had just opened the week before. She sat outside listening to Today in Focus (and how bad Track & Trace is) and had the coffee in a really nice mug. She rated it 8.5 and was really happy, and sent pics to A who was in his element back in the house gaming. He played Troy Total War on his new computer for about 3 hours. Meanwhile, L headed 15 mins walk away to Bracknell Gardens where she viewed a 2 bed apartment which needed a lot of work but was quite reasonably priced. She had her mum on video call the entire time. She then went a few doors down to another apartment which was immaculate but didn’t have any outdoor space. She loved the location of these apartments but came out unsure and wondering whether she should even be buying a place. She then took a bus to Finchley for some long overdue laser, followed by a 30 min walk to Margot Bakery to pick up the Margot Sourdough she loves. Then she headed to her fave coffee shop in E. Finchley which she used to go to a lot when living at home, and had avo on toast. She left pretty quickly because of stomach cramps and other issues and came back home on the tube to find A heading out the door.
A had been watching the cricket (Crawley got 267) and headed off to Pagoda Paddington where he was to meet the McK crew, while Kate Tomlinson was back for a quick visit before heading to America again. It was super nice to see everyone, Rose, Saksh, Anahita, Cam, Kate and roguelly Fiddely B, who is now working in PE and still gets very excited about financial and management techniques. Everyone was on good form and lots of clowning around and making jokes which occasionally went into serious selling of life progress but then went back to being silly. A really likes this crew and def wants to hold onto them.
He then rushed off to Robata at 1700 where he was to meet L. He cycled and had a bit of craziness in the queue (seat was outside and it was raining, not the dream) but he sorted it and watched his friends Chris K get married!!! L had spent the last few hours doing Ismaili work at home and resting a little. She walked to Soho and enjoyed listening to podcasts. She met A and they watched the Zoom wedding, he was v happy. L ordered and the sushi and veg skewers arrived and were yummy. They then headed off in search of dessert but failed a little and ended up in Brasserie Zedel where they got a table in the American Bar, as they thought Anish would enjoy it. L got some snacks from Wholefoods and brought them back. Anish arrived and they had cocktails, popcorn and some cheesy Wholefood snacks which L kept putting into the bar’s jar and the waitress was probably very confused as to how their snacks kept refilling. Anish brought A some chocolates to celebrate his presentation and they had a nice time hanging out. They then tried to find a spot for a second drink but Soho was rammed and super loud so they ended up in Prix Fixe and had some really good chips + cheap wine and beer. A said how nice it was that they both had a really good and chilled relationship with Anish and could relax around him. L was happy to have her 2 fave guys around. A ended up in the doghouse for his Cambridge antics and L made him get a Bolt home (Which was £3 because of her promo code). When they got back they stayed up late talking and L was not the happiest bunny, despite her being quite chilled just a few hours earlier. She blames it on hormones, but also on Alex. It wasn’t resolved that evening but it was the next day and we are now friends. 🙂
