Monday
L started working and waited for A to wake up before suggesting they go for coffee together to make use of the last week of EOTHO. They headed to Half Cup and sat outside with coffees. A had a hash brown benedict with halloumi which was delicious but would not have been worth £10 (original price). Good thing they paid £7 in total for 3 coffees and breakfast (thank you Rishi and Amex shop small). They came back and L made a salad plus her yummy sourdough. L then started making a potato cake at lunch ahead of the evening’s plans.
A spent the majority of the day upstairs as he had a call with his tech lead, then his mentor product owner and finally spent a few (3) hours improving the website (and backend) code for dData with Matt B his tech teammate. Meanwhile, L was in a mound of cheese and tried to cook and take calls at the same time. She was happy because there was a member of the diversity council. After she finished, she started clearing up the house and A ran out to get some basil, tomatoes and white wine vinegar. It was 18.40 and Iman and Liyana were arriving at 19.30, and he hadn’t finished preparing the Salmon, the house was a mess and he wasn’t dressed… but he still asked if he could play a game before going out do to the shopping. L gave him an evil. By the time they arrived at 19.30, everything was ready and pretty and Liyana asked for a screensaver of fish and a fire for the dinner table. She had a G&T with the nice Archangel gin and some cheese twists that A had made, whilst we waited for Iman who was searching for custard.
For dinner, they served up potato cake, salmon en croute with mozzarella, samphire, salad and apple crumble for dessert which Liyana made. A made L a special salmon en croute with less cheese because he’s the best. Dinner was lovely and they chatted about A moving home, Iman living with her flatmate, and similarities between the girls (A kept referring to them as a combined “you” which L thought was funny). They had a nice bottle of white wine and the girls headed back at 10.30, at which point A and L went to bed but A had a bit of a stomach ache so he pooed and then felt marginally better.
