Day 195 – 202

Mon 28th Sep – Mon 5th Oct

Monday (unexpected) date night
On monday after an intense day of working, L & A thought they deserved a break and had scheduled in some Deliveroo luxury. However, as the time neared, they decided to go out to eat instead. They dressed up for the occasion and went to Arabica (because there was a 50% discount). It was super nice to go out and not have real life and they were really glad they dressed up. The food was good, however, they went over their £40 raw so the bill was quite pricey at the end. Leil decided she was a sucker for marketing though and resolved that we’d go to the place they aimed for in future, rather than that one with an offer. A stayed over and they had a nice morning in Granger and Co in the morn.

Wednesday Founders Arms & Leila’s Haircut
After a day at home, L had decided she would head off to the see the parents, and she had scheduled a haircut with Mia in Barnet, so she headed on up and had a super short cut. A meanwhile scheduled (from the previous week) to meet up with some of the boys. They’d accidentally become 7 so had to split into two groups until Joe went home, they then had to clear out at 10 so it really wasn’t a long-one. Was super nice to see everyone in person though and they discussed how it had been 9-months since he’d seen some, but it felt like no time at all. He then visited Ri and mish in the flat and had a G&T before heading homewards to chiswick.

Friday Anish
Leil went to see Anish for a super close 1-to-1 catch up, they went to Liman for a really nice Turkish meal and the staff loved them so gave them free baklava. They had a deep chat about life, love and family.

Saturday Oxford & Areef
A had a bit of a rocky morning but headed out on the Oxford tube to Oxford (of course) to go pick up his bike. He really loved the bus journey over in the rain, and he sat on the front and just chilled. When he got there, he wandered into town and to the Bicycle Cafe, where he had a really good flat white with pea milk. He then picked up the bike (it looked shiny and great) and chatted to Jamie, a QB / McK friend who had joined QB 9-months ago and hasn’t met anyone due to COVID.
Leil met Areef in Iris & June in Victoria and they caught up over coffee and granola for her and a juice for him. He came with an agenda: 1) career, 2) his relationships, 3) Alex. Leila enjoyed it and he makes her laugh, then they walked to Paddington through Hyde Park and after she left him she went to go meet Iman and Andre in Maida Vale. Then she went on a hunt around Warren St to buy Kimchi and IBS medication (she had been diagnosed on Thurs night), but was unsuccessful. She had a 1 hour chill and washed her hair before a loud voice arrived in the house and she forced A into the shower before going home to meet her parents.

They immediately changed into pyjamas on arrival in Barnet and L’s dad was so chilled out and she loved it, they got Thai food takeaway and A showed the family how to use an ipad, and then watched Enola Holmes before heading to bed.

Sunday Esmail Anniversary

L woke A up in Barnet at 9am (she had woken up at 7am and was itching to wake him up). She had loads of energy and he had none, but she forced him out of bed and to Potters Pantry for a coffee with 5 mins to get ready. It was cute and there was a nice family in there which L stared at for a bit, plus a nice dog. Then they made an omelette for L’s parents to celebrate their 33rd anniversary and gave them gifts (see pic), after which parents went out and A played D&D whilst L did more job research and became increasingly confused and sad. Parents came back and they watched united lost 1-6 to Tottenham before going to The Gate for a drink. They chatted about living situation and L’s job (which she was still v sad about), before heading back to King’s Cross (A had not planned on coming back but L was sad so he did). They watched master chef in bed and L ate granola and porridge (Double whammy) and felt better. They went to bed late.

Monday early morning – A woke up super early and started working in his PJs. L thought he had gone home but was happy he hadn’t. They worked together and L went to Granger for an hour, and then cooked spelt broccoli leek and beans, with mum’s mushroom soup. She banned A from eating toast. They sat outside and wrote this blog in the October sun and planned their escape for November.
