Sunday
Alex’s first morning as a Toronto resident. His eyes were hurting but they decided to go to 135 Ossington for coffee and watching if Wimbledon Final with Djokovic and Kyrios. It was strangely empty compared with Leil’s expectations. They didn’t know who to support in the tennis.
Then they went to a pop up bakery that Leila had wanted to try called breadhead x tuck shop. Leila thought Alex would try one pastry but he ordered 3!! The first was a cream cheese bagel donut thingy which was YUMMY and they ate it walking through tree lined suburbs streets in the sun whilst seeing lots of exciting food places to try. They picked up the key from Imran and then Alex spent 1 hour on the phone to Lucas taking about dData in depth and he was really happy to have someone to chat with about in detail.
They then spent some hours cleaning and sorting the house including going to Home Sense to buy lots of things. It was chaotic. Leila bought fridge spinny things which are 10/10 and Alex wanted a laptop holder which didn’t exist and settled for a fabric box thing which sort of works. They then had a snack at Campechano of tacos and went home.
They decided to go to the music garden by the water, however when they got there the music was opera. Leila was really annoyed and they had a beer and then wrote the blog on a bench nearby. They picked up some quick food for dinner (5 mins on farm boy) and headed home.
Alex set up his bike whilst Leila cleared the bathroom and they did lots of organising. They had an air fryer dinner tilapia, potatoes and salad. Then they decided to go out for drinks!!!! Sunday eve party!
They went to Drom which is a polish bar with some very chilled live music and Leila had a sour Croatian wine and Alex had a bitter IPA. then they watched final table back at home for the end of italy (secret ingredient : artichoke) and Japan week with secret ingredient of unknown (we haven’t watched it yet). Alex cried because the non Japanese chef cooked great Japanese food and he was really happy. He is secretly not nice though. Then Leila didn’t sleep for a while but Alex dropped off!
