Monday
Alex did loads of calls in the morn, had his first intro to reimagining economies. Then went off to get his SIN. It was super smooth and he even set up his bank account on the way home. Meanwhile Leila worked unproductively because she was still feeling headachy from COVID.
In the afternoon / eve, they decided that they hadn’t left the house enough, went for a walk and ended up getting Oysters for half price, just 5 mins down the road.
They then came home and made chickpea pasta with rapini, lots of garlic and basically a bunch of veg from the fridge. They settled in and watched final table. They can’t remember which one it was, it might be the one when Alex cried.
Tuesday
Alex went into the office, Leila got her eyebrows done. Alex’s first day in and he made friends with the Summer Interns, he spent a long time trying to work out where to sit, but decided nowhere got the sun. He ended up doing loads of calls. Meanwhile, Vyoma arrived and met up with Leil but then promptly went out again.
In the eve, Alex went to effective altruism for a drink, then joined L and Vyoma at Bar Cucla, they had tapas, and it was nice. Then they came home! It was the french one with secret ingredient egg.
Wednesday
Alex was on calls basically all day. He was being loud so Leila did almost no work. She can just not work with noise. Alex had like 7 hours of back to back zoom calls and he was super dead by the end. They found a way of working where Alex sat on the balcony.
In the eve, A & L walked over to Alouette. Alex had fried mushroom ‘chicken’ but the star of the show was the skate wing. It was super good. Leil tried all 4 of the wines before deciding on the first one. On the way back they picked up peach oranges and settled in to watch the final! Vyoma fell asleep almost immediately. The winner was a bit disappointing.
