It’s 1.47pm on Saturday 28th January and L and A are sitting in a lounge on very comfy black sofas wearing robes and drinking peppermint tea and watching David Attenborough. They’re in a Russian Banya spa which feels like someone’s house. There’s 2 saunas, a steam room, cold plunge, lounge, unlimited tea and a restaurant. It’s such an experience.

This morning, they started their day with a coffee at 135 which had the most chilled vibes and then L went to have a face massage at a Brazilian lymphatic drainage place (she can’t have any body massages because of her back). It was so relaxing and great. They then ubered to Brodflour bakery for the first time (had been on the list for ages) and it was incredible. A loved the coffee and the Jerusalem smoked salmon bagel – one of the best eats in TO this year. More to come on the day later…….but L feels very chilled and happy to be exploring new things with A on her birthday.

Going backwards: On saturday, L and A went to Sadru and Shiloo with Aleem and Karen’s and had a huge huge birthday feast. They then went to Sunny’s Chinese with Tamara and Will followed by the Ace Hotel for drinks. L was very happy after as she had such an nice time with their new Toronto friends. On Sunday, L and A went to Ajax and Imran, Alex and Mysha went snowboarding at Lakeridge. Meanwhile, L went for a walk and chilled with Amina and spent ages cooking a tasty dinner for the snowboarding crew when they got back. The week started with L getting her MRI results. Turns out she has nothing super serious which is great – a large disc herniation and bulges up and down her spine – a few months of rehab and she should be OK. She saw her ismaili chiro who was very reassuring and a physio too. She’s still in pain on and off but happy it’s nothing long term hopefully. L and A went for pho on Tuesday evening after chiro which was lovely.

L went to get her eyebrows threaded on Weds and stopped by Banoi to get her favourite sourdough bread. It’s truly incredbile
A went to dinner with QB folks on Thurs evening and had QB canada day on friday which he loved, it was his perfect day of workshops with QB friends and he was buzzing. After work, they went to Olivia Spurton to buy L’s bday present – and after 40 mins of shopping they picked a beautiful gold necklace with a diamond on it. It’s 14 carat gold chain (mined in canada) with a 2.5mm SI diamond mix between G-H, also mined in Canada. it felt lovely to be shopping together and filled with love. In the evening, they decided to order some Har Gow and shrimp fritter thingys on DoorDash and then made some veg and eggs. It was a lovely meal at home after a long time and then they watched 3 hours of This Is US. Also, L’s work friends (Priya, Nithin, Vanessa) sent her 12 cookies as a birthday present on DoorDash which made her very happy.
