Alex headed to nyc on sunday evening to Tarrytown for Flite
Meanwhile Leila found a lump in her leg, it turned out to be nothing though but she treated herself to Soo Fung’s prawn dumplings after her ultrasound. She also read a book called Mame, and she really enjoyed reading before bed. she went to Downtown winery to read by herself.
Alex came back exhausted on Friday evening and L had cooked a gnocchi bake. They were supposed to go to a gig which was cancelled last min (probably a good thing given how tired A was). Saturday was very rainy and they headed to Woolshed for a cosy coffee with their books. A was literally engrossed in the anime that was playing in Woolshed and he immediately turned towards the TV for the entire time. On the way back, ,they stopped by UFO which is a cute vietnamese cafe and they had cheap pho and bahn mi. It was such good rainy day vibes. A decided to go to Farm Boy and look up weekend plans, whilst L had an AKDN call, then started cooking a mushroom pastry but L came in and fancied wine, so she made him get his bike and sprint to Downtown Winery before happy hour ended (he got there in time) and she turned all the kitchen stuff off and then walked behind. They had a cute wine and then walked home, finished cooking and a big salmon en croute! After that, A bought last min tickets to a band called Rare Americans (Vancouver based) and the gig was 10mins from their house. It was very chilled and L got a beanie from A. They both liked the main singer who had great energy and A loved the music. They did a Q&A during the set. L didn’t like the music but she thought it was fun and she loved A.

On Sunday, they walked all the way to Leslieville and chatted to Areef on the phone because it was sunny. They bought things from the second hand store – A bought jeans, t shirts and L also bought jeans and another pair of trousers. They then walked to Maru and had amazing sushi, followed by Avling for jazz and evening drink. A great, chilled day.

On April 1st, Heathcroft got new tenants!! Start of a new era. Also, their bedroom door was really annoying and stiff and broken. Alex worked from home on Wednesday and cleaned up loads and made Salmon en Croute and did the weekly shop. L was having a stressful day and A made such a big effort. Iman had her boxing fight and won! They decided to go out for ramen one weekday eve to Isshin but it wasn’t that great. L had a recharge day on Friday and spent the day with Julie Anne – they went to Body Blitz Spa and moved between various hot and cold pools and had their books. They then went to The Good Fork for a middle eastern brunch, chatted existentialism and then went to shops and browsed. L was so happy to have had such a nice recharge day.

Meanwhile, A started a new project at Mckinsey working with Sean. It made him happy. That Friday, A came back super late after having wine and late night pizza with McKinsey friends.

On April 1, april fools day, L convinced them to go on a really long walk. It was the first day it felt like spring. They went to Banoi to get seaweed sourdough and focaccia and then all the way to 915 Dupont, which is the coolest cafe Japanese hi fi vibes ever. They chilled in the cafe for a while listening to music and reading. They then walked all the way back home, via College St, A got a veggie sando, A got 2 Asimov old school books from second hand book shop and L bought kimchi from the nice stand in Alexandra park. They also went to Heavenly Perogi, a Ukrainian restaurant in a church and had pierogi’s and looked at the exhibition on photography during the Ukrainian war. That evening, A booked last min tickets to TFC with Imran whilst L went to the gym (cross trainer only for her back). The goals were scored from a corner flag because the wind was so strong and the quality of players was bad.

On sunday, it was a stunner. They took an uber to Scarborough to the beach in the morning and walked for a long time. It was amazing blue skies, blue water, bright sun. They then decided they wanted to go down a trail but it was muddy, so they asked an old fella if the trail was consistently muddy as he had just done it, and he said yes. He was called Frank. He offered to walk them to another trail because he was local and they followed. Ended up being a 25 min walk getting to know Frank through neighbourhoods and talked about AI. Then, Frank met his friend, who was called Barbara (Barb). Barb was walking the other way, but then decided she wanted to join A and L to go for a walk. They continued on (Frank left) down very residential roads until they got to a path that led to the beach, and they chatted to Barb for about an hour. Barb is an artist who met her husband sailing for 9 months together to Barbados, and recently convinced him to rekindle with his ex, Rosy, whose house they now house sit in France. It was so fun talking to them and so lovely to meet strangers and just not be in a rush and just be able to walk and talk to them.

However they did have evening plans. They rushed home and went straight to Liberty Commons to meet Alex’s Mckinsey crew for a roast dinner – Will (and new GF), sam, Sixtine, Will and Annie, Tina. They all had roasts apart from L and it was so good to chat to the crew. L understood why A likes going into the office and having wine on Friday. Very chilled vibes. Wholesome weekend.
