They spent the first week in Southwark. L started work again and A was kinda working because he was about to resign. He spent some time playing his steam deck. L really enjoyed working from Southwark because she saw lots of people in the mornings before starting like Davina at Soho House and Rob at Roslyn. On Fri eve they went Bar Duoro for wine and looked at the food menu for stone barn since they were planning to do a tasting.
The next day they went spinning with Misha, Liyana and George. L was suspicious something was going on bc A wanted to spin and also was being weird and wanted to buy cushions. They went to Hampstead and ended up at the Hollybush where L entered to a beautiful private room which was set up for her. She was very grateful and emotional. Her closest friends came for lunch and A had organised everything! They spent a few hours there then drove home to Barnet very happy. They had a cake at home with the family and took lots of family photos lol! The next day L had to set off for Toronto ;( She missed A already
Meanwhile A spent a few days in Southwark working and seeing friends. L settled back into work and then 3 days later, A arrived in Toronto for his last few weeks!!
They went to Annabelle’s pasta place on a weeknight date and had really nice homemade fresh bread. Alex made a really nice veg soup one day too! He started reading lots of institute for govt docs.
A resigned from Mck and then started working very little (rightly so!). They went to found and then went to see Nani and took her to the Burmese restaurant. L had the monday off so they went ice skating together at the Well and then went to Sue Fungs!!!!! And to the Japanese brunch place.
They also had Paddy round for dinner and went out for Tamara’s bday to a brewery and then comedy club and then Belfast love and A booked a sponty trip to Buffalo to watch the Bills with the boys. It was very cold. L’s mum was back and they went for sushi together at Saku and L and her mum went shopping for furniture and then jewellery for her 30th birthday – they got earrings from Anne Sportum which L doesn’t have yet as she writes! It is her bday in 2 days
A had his last week at McK and his all hands was very empty and not like the old QB he knew.
L then went to NYC for work and saw Priya Gandhi for dinner too. She felt it was a good trip for seeing her team like Michelle and PB. She saw nothing of NYC and didn’t sleep well but was glad she went for the short time. meanwhile, A had dinner with Paddy in Pai and then had his last day at Mckinsey!!!!
