Alex feels a mix of excitement and apprehension of leaving McKinsey. He didn’t get a return offer but he feels lots of love from the Mckinsey and the QuantumBlack people.
He began sending leaving emails on the Tuesday but he was already getting messages from people saying how he would be missed. He got over 30 responses of people wishing him well and lots of people asking for time to talk about what they wanted from their careers.
He had meetings with everyone from Kyle asking what the plan for DealScan should be, Kevin asking for advice on future jobs and leaders giving him advice on what he should do in government.
On Friday, he saw friends and got lots of hugs which was lovely (e.g., Akash, Jiakai, etc.) he organised a small drinks with the QB folks which was super chill and nice, then in the eve Michelle bought him a cake which he shared with the EMs before having a drink and chill with Bruno.
