Leil wakes up and is like ‘before I start work, I need to go get some supplies = vicks, veggie burgers, soya milk and tahini’. She went to a coffee shop where she chatted about Khoi coffee and felt cool, until realising that they weren’t talking about the same khoi, there’s one in Canada. Then Leil brought two coffees back and there both really nice. It was the first coffee Alex had had in several days. He loved it.
They both had some bagels and Leil started work really late. Alex had a call with Yassir, the econ development analytics partner, in the morn and was quite excited writing up the questions that he needed answers to. Alex spent most of the rest of the day doing McKinsey admin and Leila really lightly worked.
In the afternoon, it was really feeling like a return to UK lockdown feels. We chatted a lot and talked about life and the world, especially around Alex’s happiness podcast where he went through every episode 1 by 1. They decided to restart the blog because it was such a lovely part of their lockdown.
Before dinner, it was raining a lot outside and they could see a big church. Leila was starting to feel a bit gross, and so they had dahl and spiniach and rotli. They watched this is us before bed and went to sleep.
